Some men and photos. It’s like they think they’re allergic, you know? 😅
When Holly and I first talked newborn photos, she confessed that Rob was not sold on the idea. “Maybe when our baby is a bit older… when she’s 6 months old or something,” he’d told her. I quietly chuckled at how un-subtle his efforts to delay being photographed were. But we settled on a compromise and made plans for both.
After baby’s arrival, Holly and I worked on finalising the photoshoot time. Forecast of rain both helped and made me hesitate. It meant the farmer would be home! But how much natural light would I end up with, indoors? Thankfully, the downpour came and went by the time we arrived and the sun re-appeared.
Amusingly Rob was under his car when I rolled in. Real life, right? But he swapped the grease top for a linen shirt shortly. He had some work deadlines to meet, so we prioritised all the photos including him to be first and fast. Holly laughed after he left. “He was good, but I think he might be a tiny bit mad still. I suspect he’ll change his mind though, soon as he sees these.” (I’ve since heard that he has!)
Later in the shoot, Holly dared to try her luck including the family’s golden retriever. The dog wasted no time in showing her enthusiastic affection before she was promptly removed.
Now that you’ve heard all about the rest, can we talk about this baby for a minute? The gorgeous Wylder was everything a newborn photographer could wish for. Maybe it’s because this hour of the morning was her sleepy time or maybe it’s because she takes after her easy-going mama? Either way, she didn’t even wake from the dog’s exuberance! (Albeit, her expression read ‘unimpressed’ haha) Her innocent perfection and darling littleness was only matched by the love and adoration radiating from her parents and grandmother. Can you see that in these images?
Congratulations Holly and Rob! Wishing you blessings and much happiness as you nurture your precious Wylder!
