Little Ned arrived approximately six weeks before I met him. Born premature, he was close to his due date when his mother messaged me. My triplet nieces were born premature and waiting until they were six weeks old came with its benefits and challenges. Consequently, it was only a few days from the first conversation to meeting this sweet little family.
One of the first things I noticed was just how much this little man looked like his daddy. And how proud his daddy was of him! Men generally seem to find pictures a test of their patience, but if Clayton felt that way, he hid it well! Ned is clearly blessed with two adoring parents!
I have to say, every baby I photograph is precious and I treasure the experience. Few babies though are as sleepy for as long as darling little Ned. Whether it all took place at the the perfect time of the day or something else, the little man made my job a treat.
Of course sleepy newborns are ideal but ideal doesn’t always happen and that’s fine too. When we attempted a bare photo Ned was less settled. We quickly abandoned the idea as the comfort of the baby is our top priority. Swaddling snugly is something that typically relaxes and reassures babies, giving that dreamy sleepiness. And so it was with sweet little Ned.

P.S. Ned will get to play in the church his parents got married in, because they own it! How epic is that?!
